Interested in working with me?

Interested in working with me?

I’m looking for a “t-shaped” person to help expand my small User Experience team. Someone who is smart, web-savvy, and can handle multiple projects while evangelizing customer experience.

Our team is busy envisioning unseen solutions to complex design, business, and technology challenges. We’re trying to change the culture of a billion dollar travel company one prototype at a time. Our focus? How things should be, not how they are.

Like a startup, we have a small, passionate team and things move fast. Unlike a start-up, you don’t have to worry about 80 hour weeks, burnrates, or poor benefits. The company I work for has 9,000 employees in over 45 countries and a long successful history behind it.

Our campus is located in Southlake, TX (minutes away from an Apple Store!). And we enjoy working in the best suburb in Dallas/Ft. Worth area (no, really, it’s cool for a suburb).

We’re looking for the right people: Folks passionate about interaction design, information architecture, front-end development, design research, new technologies— in general ‘making things work for people’ (our mantra).

Sound interesting? (No, really I’m fun to work with!)

Finally! OSX+Intel+Adobe= Woot!

PhotoShop CS3 Beta

Today’s the day… The app l spend the most time in (besides good old Firefox) has turned universal. PhotoShop CS3 is here.

I’ve posted some screenshots on my flickr account. So far so good, it’s faster - has some nice UI changes, and it’s faster. Did I mention it’s faster? My MacBook Pro is loving it!

Tintin makes it to America!

tintin_on_tv

You may or may not know I’m a huge Tintin fan. Mostly unknown here in the U.S., he’s a mega-star overseas (kind of like David Hasselhoff). I have a collection of Tintin collectables, including a Tintin Swatch watch, coins, figurines, and a stuffed Snowy for Owen.

Make sure to Tivo this tonight!

Why does the comic strip The Adventures of Tintin, about an intrepid boy reporter, continue to fascinate us decades after its publication? “Tintin and I” highlights the potent social and political underpinnings that give Tintin’s world such depth, and delves into the mind of HergĂ©, Tintin’s work-obsessed Belgian creator, to reveal the creation and development of Tintin.

Apple Store NorthPark Dallas, TX

IMG_3439.jpg

Well, I’ve now attended my third Apple Store opening in the North Texas area. I haven’t been to NorthPark in a long time - they’ve added quite a bit. This Apple Store was the biggest of the three i’ve seen and had three different “bars”: genius, studio and iPod. Other then that, pretty standard fare for an Apple Store.

If you were not able to attend - check out my photos on Flickr - and yes I got a free t-shirt :-)

Back from Mumbai (aka Bombay)

IMG_1689.jpg

I recently got a chance to attend a friends wedding in Mumbai, India. What an experience! My wife and I set out on th’e 20+ hour trip to BOM (me through Amsterdam, her through Zurich) on the 13th, and arrived in what was definitely the closest thing to “culture shock” i’ve ever experienced.

Google Maps + UTA + Friday Night

A friend of mine wanted me to plug a local googlemaps mash-up called Friday Night Hangout.

This site was developed by the UTA Libraries: GIS Program to demonstrate the capabilities of geographic information systems, the Google Maps API, and the power of combining the two.

This application demonstrates the integration of geographic information systems analysis with the Google Maps API. Answer all of the following 7 questions and the geoprocessor will calculate the best location in Tarrant County, TX for you to hang out. All user selections are stored, so who knows…maybe someone else will be hanging out there with you…

I’m glad to see some interesting “web 2.0″ apps coming out of North Texas!

Another Start

Yes, the internet needed another blog. I’ve decided to move some of my web properties (like they have any value) around and I think I’m about complete. The cssreboot gave me the kick-in-the-pants to get this site up, along with my photoblog metrolifestyle.

I’ll be tweaking this site over the next couple of weeks, but I’ve found a base I like - and will start here.

If you do not know who I am (and why would you) I write for a couple of sites, have a few photography websites and am a designer for Bright Corner during the day. You can learn more about me on my use-to-be-blog-now-homebase site jeremyjohnsononline.

Looking to the future I will be posting about design, technology, internet this-and-that - I currently write about photography on ilikecameras and pixelimpact.

At Bright Corner I’m a Designer among other things, you can view some of my work on my portfolio site digitalbauhas. My hobby is photography and on the side I’m a creative thinker.

Hope you will stay and chat!
